The monastery was re-established by two Serbian monks, the Chilean Gerasimus (worldly Nikolaos) Radonia and Antonios of Vatopedi (former Arsenios) Pagassi, after years of desolation.

Emperor John VII Paleologos donates to the Monastery the metochi of Limnos.

Serbian despot George Brankovic is financing the building of a new Cathedral dedicated to his patron, St Georgios
1471
Mara Brankovic, daughter of Serbian despot George Brankovic and wife of Sultan Murad Bidovi, offers to the Monastery the Metochi in Prevlaka near Tripiti.
1521
The Wallachian ruler, Neagoe Basarab, is building the defensive tower.
1552
Painting of the chapel of St Georgios in the north wing.
1690-1708
Repair by Wallachian ruler Constantine Brancoveanu of the entire West Wing.
1816
Launch of the important extension by Archimandrite Anthimos Komninos Agiopavlitis.
1902
The south and west wings as well as much of the archive sre destroyed by a fire.
