A small but beautiful monastery is situated at the eastern side of the Athos peninsula for centuries. Its ‘mysterious’ name, its course through the difficulties, which faced all the monasteries of Mt Athos, and the important figures which emerged from it indicate its rich history. However, the monastic tradition which characterizes the Monastery in the 21st century is its most important historical legacy.
